enA new airport was inaugurated in Northern Cyprus

The inauguration ceremony of the airport in Ercan, located 20 km from Nicosia, was held in the TRNC. It is stated that after the reconstruction, during which the old terminal was replaced by a new modern building with an area of 128 thousand m2, the airport will be able to receive up to 10 million passengers a year. The 3200 m long and 45 m wide runway is suitable for all types of aircraft. In total, more than 400 million euros were spent on the reconstruction of the airport.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Turkey. Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his hope for the early opening of international air service with the TRNC and appealed to the world community to stop isolating Northern Cyprus.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors
Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
