Construction of a grand sports center in Konakli in Alanya has started

Alanya Municipality has started work on the project of a sports complex to be built on an area of 200,000 m² in the Elikesik Mahallesi neighborhood of Konakli, which will be the largest complex in the region.

The project consists of 3 phases. Phase 1 includes the construction of tennis courts, a soccer field with a capacity of 2500 people, soccer training fields, a building for athletes' accommodation and a complex including conference halls, a restaurant and cafeteria, indoor and outdoor public and sports grounds and 45 rooms for 100 people.

Also Phase 1 of the project includes biking, walking and running paths, outdoor sports and recreational fields and parking lots. During the second phase a track and field stadium and velodrome will be built. In the third phase, sections of an indoor sports hall and an indoor swimming pool will be realized.

The mayor of Alanya oversaw the start of the large-scale construction project. "When completed, this will be the largest sports facility in the region and will be able to host all national and international organizations for years to come. Our Alanya deserves this, as it has recently been named the 'Mediterranean Capital of Sports'," he said.
