New features added to all ATMs in Turkey

July 26, 2024

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has introduced a new menu of transactions in addition to existing systems EFT, electronic transfers and FAST. The new ATM update introduces prepayment services, including integration with FAST, and offers an alternative option for EFT and IBAN money transfers. Thus, one person can instantly send a payment request to another person. In the future, this system will be used in many areas - from electronic commerce payments to electronic order payments and corporate account payments, providing citizens with a 24-hour and fast service.

Important! ATM now has a function of confiscation (swallowing) card in the following cases:

- when the password is entered wrong three times
- due to technical failure
- Card cancelled by bank due to debt
- your card’s validity has expired
- if the card was reported as lost or stolen

If the ATM has swallowed your card, contact the bank and report what happened. The bank will tell you about the security of your card, how to return it and may offer to block the card in order to avoid fraudulent actions.
