"For the first time in recorded history, the temperature has risen to 49.5 degrees Celsius," the country's Environment and Urban Development Minister Mehmet Ozhaseki said. On Tuesday, August 15, the temperature in Eskisehir province was 49.5 degrees Celsius! The previous record was 49.1 degrees in Şırnak province.
In other regions of Turkey, hot weather has set in, exceeding 40 degrees in some places. However, the abnormal heat threatens not only Turkey. This week, extreme heat will hit several European countries, including Germany. Eastern and Central Europe is also at risk.

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public.
