April 27, 2023

In Sakarya, at the Savunma Arifiye plant, a solemn ceremony was held for the transfer of two new Yeni Altay tanks (unofficial name) developed by the Turkish defense enterprise. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke at the ceremony.
"Turkey is striving to become one of the leading supplier countries in the defense industry, which is also facilitated by the appearance of a new third-generation tank with a modern armored structure and Akkor active protection system," the president said.
Tests of the new tanks will last until 2025, after which it is planned to launch their serial production.
Note that the Turkish army is the second largest NATO army (after the United States).
