The situation on Turkey's roads during the holidays

June 27, 2023

While locals and tourists share photos of a deserted Istanbul on social media, all other highways are quite busy. Locals are traveling en masse to see family and loved ones. Despite the increase in the number of patrol cars and police officers on the roads, the number of accidents has increased. Authorities are asking drivers to be responsible and obey traffic rules. Plan trips in advance, taking into account traffic jams and possible delays.

The Alanya Traffic Police also carry out checks on the roads before the holidays. Special attention is paid to motorcycles. Drivers of motorcycles on sidewalks and crosswalks are fined 30,000 liras.
