The Turkish Parliament has passed a law on short-term rentals

Here are the new rules and conditions that must be observed for short-term rentals:

1. A short-term lease is recognized as a lease for a period not exceeding 100 days
2. In order to be able to rent out an apartment, the following conditions must be met:
- obtain a license from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism
- obtain the consent of all other owners of the house
- install a sign from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism at the entrance to the house

Penalties:
renting without a license - 100 thousand liras (for both the tenant and the landlord)
subletting - 100 thousand liras
Misleading information when submitting documents to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism - 50 thousand liras.

It is still unclear how the process of fulfillment and control of the above conditions will actually take place. We will follow the further development of events.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public.
