Deputy chairman of the AK party Hayati Zheggi said that in October the parliament will start discussing the creation of a new constitution for Turkey: "It is not just a wish, it is a necessity, because the adoption of a constitution is a right of the nation. The agenda will be questions like "What should be the road map for constitution-making", "What is the role of the ruling AK party in this?" and many others".

Pagi noted that until today the nation has not been able to exercise its right to adopt a constitution, and explained that the constitutions adopted during the republican period and earlier were prepared under emergency conditions, a the 1961 and 1982 Constitutions were prepared by the coup.

"The Scientific Committee under the guidance of Professor Yavuz Atara prepared a draft according to the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, continued Zheggi, However, we will create the Constitution together. The discussion will include experts and scholars in the fields of law, public administration, political science and sociology. It will be a discussion of experts at the table. Then we will form them into a report and present it to the authorized bodies of our party. We will also communicate with other political parties".

Also, Gigi said that the new constitution must be approved by the nation even if it is passed by parliament: "The new constitution must be approved by a holy nation with full right to adopt it or not."
