President Erdoğan spoke at the Justice and Development Party headquarters

President Erdoğan spoke at the Justice and Development Party headquarters, making the following statements:

 "This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, which has played a significant role in our country's history" 

 "We continue to strive for our goals and work tirelessly"  

"We will fight until all traitors to the terrorist organization FETÖ are held accountable by the law."

"We will make every effort to ensure that Cyprus has a lasting and just peace."  

"We are successfully fighting forest fires in the country. For this purpose, 24 airplanes, 100 helicopters and 10 unmanned aerial vehicles have been deployed."    

"In a conversation with Vladimir Zelensky, we made a proposal to end the war, which has been going on for more than 500 days, and confirmed our readiness to contribute to this" 

"Our visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE were extremely productive. We signed the largest defense export contract in Turkey's history"

"Our country is ready to help Greece in any way possible to extinguish forest fires"

Türkiye increases purchases of Western LNG: new contract with TotalEnergies.

Turkey s state-owned energy company Botas has signed a new long-term contract with France s TotalEnergies for the supply of 16 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. The agreement will come into force in 2027 and is designed for 10 years, providing Turkey with an additional 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas annually.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.

Turkey's economic growth in the second quarter of 2024

Turkey's Federal Statistical Office reported that the country's economy grew by 2.5% in the second quarter of 2024. Significant growth was recorded in the services sector (7.4%) and construction (6.5%).
