Districts of Mersin

January 26, 2023

Mersin, formerly known mainly as the main port of Turkey, is now increasingly gaining popularity as a tourist and investment city of the country. The dynamics of development is such that over the past year, real estate prices in Mersin increased by 194%. Despite this, the cost of housing is much lower than on the Antalya coast and there is still an opportunity to buy real estate at very affordable prices. It's time to sort out the areas of this attractive metropolis.

There are 4 main districts - Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toros and Yenisehir, as well as suburbs - Aydincik, Anamur, Bozyazy, Gulnar, Mut, Silifke, Tarsus, Chamlyaila and Erdemli.
Akdeniz. The business center of the province. There is a port, a railway station, some industrial enterprises, Ataturk Park, as well as many schools, kindergartens and polyclinics.
Mezitli. A quiet area along the coast with sandy beaches and a gentle entrance to the sea. It is here that the Teje microdistrict, so beloved by foreigners, with a beautiful embankment, as well as a well-known state university, is located. It is 90% gasified.
Toroslar. A little remote from the coast area, the main attractions of which are Republic Square and Yumuktepe - the ruins of the oldest settlement in Anatolia. Beautiful ecology and stunning views of the eponymous Toros mountains. Mersin's largest hospital, Şehir Hastanesi, is located here.
Yenisehir. Coastal modern area between Akdeniz and Mezitli. Excellent infrastructure and a well-maintained embankment with a length of 7 km. It is home to the largest Mersin Forum shopping center, the university and the Mersin - Marina Marina.

Suburbs:

Erdemli. The gasified suburb of Mersin, popular among foreigners, with elite buildings and excellent beaches. The most famous neighborhoods are Cheshmeli, Temyuk, Arpachbakhshish. An iconic location is the sandy beach of Kyzkalesi and the XII century fortress with the same name, located 200 meters from the shore and, of course, having a sad history of its foundation. There is a large shopping center "Novacity", schools, kindergartens, polyclinics and other socially significant facilities.
Tarsus. The oldest city with a rich history, an administrative district in the eastern part of Mersin. The prospects are due to the fact that the Chukurova International Airport with a passenger traffic of 30 million people will open here in the near future.
Silifke. The former ancient city of Seleucia, founded in the III century BC. Now it is a quiet suburb known for its cultural heritage. The coastline is replete with quiet picturesque bays. Many Akkuyu NPP employees live here.
Anamur. The southernmost suburb of Mersin with magnificent mountain and seascapes, excellent beaches and secluded view coves.
Idynjik. An area with a beautiful beach with a gentle entrance to the sea and a national nature park with a camping site where locals like to spend time. Here is the famous Gilindire cave with stalactites, stalagmites and an underground lake.
Bozyazy. A quiet settlement with a good ecology, sparsely populated beaches and clean sea. One of the budget resorts in Turkey. There are many summer residences of Turks who come for the summer from Ankara and other major cities.
Gulnar. A county remote from the coast with agricultural land and vineyards. It is located 150 km southwest of Mersin.
Chamlyaila. A mountainous area with beautiful nature and cool mountain rivers, where locals like to come to escape from the summer heat.
Mut. Agricultural district. The symbol of the city is an apricot, especially sweet varieties of which are grown here.

If there are no children and parents: - 3/4 of the estate is received by the spouse- 1/4 is divided between the grandmother and grandfather of the deceased and their children (uncle, aunt) 4. If there are no other relatives besides the spouse: - All inheritance goes to the spouse. 5. If there are no relatives and spouse:- The whole estate goes to the state.
