enThe amount of pensions in Turkey has been increased by 5%

In his speech after the Cabinet meeting, the Turkish President announced an increase in pensions by 5%. Thus, the minimum pension is now 10 thousand liras (332 dollars).
"We declare 2024 the year of pensioners. In this regard, we aim to expand the list of services that will improve the quality of life of our pensioners and strengthen their social rights," Recep Tayyip Erdogan added.
Pensioners will start receiving the first increased pensions on January 17-26 (SK pensioners) and January 25-28 (BagKur pensioners).
It should be noted that Turkish pensioners are constantly provided with various social support, such as: delivery of hot food, assistance in buying food packages, partial compensation for utilities and additional one-time payments.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors
Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
