On August 1, a system of electronic visas for foreigners will start working throughout the Russian Federation

According to the decision of the President of the Russian Federation from August 1, 2023 the system of issuing single electronic visas to foreign citizens will start working. Visas issued online will be valid throughout the territory of the Russian Federation. 

Foreign citizens will be able to apply for a visa on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/ or in a mobile application. The application must be submitted at least 4 days before entering the country. The validity of the visa is 60 days from the date of issuance, however, the maximum possible period of stay on it is 16 days. You can cross the border with an e-visa in any way convenient for the citizen: by air, water and road transport, as well as through a checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation.

To apply for a visa, foreign citizens will need to:
 - fill in an application form
 - upload a photo
 - upload a scan of the page with the electronic data of the passport
 - Pay the consular fee (the amount of the fee has not been announced yet).

You can check whether a citizen has a visa using the unified database on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: https://evisacheck.kdmid.ru.
