Since the beginning of 2024, car sales in Turkey have increased by 52%

Since the beginning of the year, passenger car sales in Turkey have increased by 52% (146,318 cars) compared to the same period last year. Sales of commercial vehicles increased by 11%.

Car production increased by 12% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 151.014 units. Together with the production of tractors, the total production volume reached 250,886 units. The capacity utilization rate in the automotive industry was 74% for light vehicles, 94% for trucks, 6% for minibus buses and 72% for tractors.

The production and export of automobiles occupy a dominant place in the Turkish economy. According to the Turkish Assembly of Exporters (TIM), the total exports of the automotive industry remained in first place in the ranking of industry exports with a share of 14%. According to the Uludağ Exporters Association (UIB), the total volume of car exports has increased by 9% since the beginning of the year and reached $6 billion in monetary terms.
