As of today, the law on sales in the real estate and automotive sectors comes into force

November 1, 2023

In order to prevent sales on websites by concealing identity, an identity verification requirement will be introduced on all advertising websites from November 1, 2023: the Electronic Advertising Verification System (EIDS) to authenticate individuals or legal entities that provide electronic media to advertise the sale of real estate owned by others. In this way, ads with unrealistic prices and deception in the real estate and used car trade will be prevented.

The purpose of the law is to curb the activities of persons hiding their identity and raising market prices. The verification procedure will be carried out through e-devlet or Web Tapu platforms. Persons manipulating the market and/or creating information pollution by placing more than one advertisement will not be allowed to advertise and will be fined between 10,000 and 100,000 liras.

P.S. Let us hope that this innovation will significantly reduce the number of "talking heads" who do not have business licenses and permits to work in real estate.
