Istanbul is the province with the highest GDP share in 2022 Kocaeli is the province in Turkey with the highest per capita income in 2022

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) has released gross domestic product data by province for 2022. Istanbul became the province with the highest share of GDP with 4 trillion. 564 m.lrd 280 million liras, accounting for 30.4 percent of the total income. It is followed by Ankara with 1 trillion. 329 billion 810 million liras and a share of 8.9 % and Izmir with 972 billion 238 million liras and a share of 6.5 %. The five provinces with the highest share of GDP accounted for 53.9 percent of all revenues in 2022. Tunceli, Ardahan and Bayburt provinces were at the end of the list.

In terms of per capita income, Kocaeli ranks first with 302.772 liras. Kocaeli is followed by Istanbul with 287,524 liras and Tekirdag with 253,501 liras. The last three places were taken by Şanlıurfa with 64.416 liras, Ağrı with 55. 296 liras and Van with 54.272 liras. Overall, the GDP per capita of 14 provinces was above the Turkish average in 2022.
