Real Estate Sales Statistics of Turkey for May 2024

According to a report by the Turkish Statistical Institute TÜİK, 110,588 properties were sold in Turkey in May 2024, which is 2.4% lower than in the same period last year. The share of primary real estate sales was 32.2% (35,558 objects) and secondary - 67,8% (75,030 objects). 
Real estate sales using mortgage decreased in May by 63.9% (9,909 objects). Mortgage sales accounted for 9 per cent of total home sales. Total in the period from January to May 2024 sales decreased by 3.4% compared to the same period last year. 

Leaders in real estate:

Istanbul - 18,814 objects
Ankara - 9.861 
Antalya - 6 . 306

Real estate sales to foreigners in May decreased by 34.8 percent compared to May 2023 and amounted to 2.064 objects. The share of real estate sales to foreigners in total sales amounted to 1.9%. The provinces with the largest number of real estate sales to foreigners became:

Antalya - 797 objects
Istanbul - 668 sites
Mersin - 164 objects

Leading countries for the purchase of Turkish real estate:

Russian Federation - 437 objects
Iran - 207 objects
Ukraine - 171 objects

Turkey's economic growth in the second quarter of 2024

Turkey's Federal Statistical Office reported that the country's economy grew by 2.5% in the second quarter of 2024. Significant growth was recorded in the services sector (7.4%) and construction (6.5%).
