August 29, 2023

On the night of August 30-31, the inhabitants of the Earth will be able to observe a unique astronomical phenomenon - a super moon! The Moon will look 14% brighter and 30% larger, as it will be at the closest point to the Earth. Since this is the second full moon this month, astronomers call it the Blue Moon. The next super moon will be seen on the night of September 28-29, 2023.

The minimum distance between Earth and the moon will be set on August 30 at 6:52 p.m. And at 4:37 a.m. on August 31, the moon will enter its full phase.  At this point, observers will be able to see the lunar seas and craters even with the naked eye.
