This was announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a rally in Istanbul: "Over the past 21 years, we have invested 1 trillion 650 billion Turkish liras in the infrastructure of Istanbul. In the field of transport, we have increased the length of separate roads from 350 to 794 kilometers and built 230 kilometers of light rail and metro lines in the city. Our goal is to implement all 1,100 kilometers of railway system projects that we have prepared for Istanbul. This year, a tender will be held for the construction of the Gebze - Airport high-speed train line.Sabihi Gokcen - Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge - Istanbul Airport", the length of which will be 120 kilometers."
