Turkuaz Kart - turquoise map of Turkey

Turkuaz Kart - turquoise map of Turkey

April 12, 2023

Turquoise card is a document that gives a foreign citizen an indefinite right to work and stay in Turkey. The same rights are granted to the spouse of the cardholder, as well as his/her children. As a rule, such cards are issued to investors, highly qualified employees, scientists, athletes and cultural figures.

Foreigners who have received Turkuaz Kart have almost the same rights and obligations as citizens of the country. They have the right to medical care, to receive education in educational institutions in Turkey, to conduct commercial activities. Card holders cannot participate in elections (vote or be a candidate) and hold public office. They are also exempt from compulsory military service.

To obtain a card, a foreigner must apply to the Ministry of Labor of Turkey, providing all the necessary documents. Next, a special commission will consider the application and make its decision. If it is positive, the card will be issued for 3 years, after which the applicant receives the right to issue an indefinite turquoise card or to obtain Turkish citizenship.

Thus Turkuaz Kart is an analogue of "Green card" and "Blue card" (American and European cards). Do you have friends who have Turkuaz Kart? Or maybe you are the owner of it yourself?
