Turkey and Italy may co-host the EURO 2032 championship

August 22, 2023

In September, UEFA will announce the host countries for Euro 2028 and Euro 2032. Turkey is bidding to host both championships. While in the first case it is opposed by Great Britain and Ireland, who have submitted a joint bid, only Italy has applied for EURO-2032 and there is a high probability of a joint championship. If Italy and Turkey's joint bid is approved, the opening of the championship will be held in Istanbul and its final in Rome.

In total, both countries have to provide 6 arenas each. Italy has confirmed its willingness to build new stadiums or renovate existing ones. Turkey already has a sufficient number of suitable stadiums. About 40 new soccer arenas have been built in the country in the last 6-7 years.
