Some time ago, the Turkish Parliament passed a bill on changes in the structure of BOTAŞ within the framework of the realization of the project on construction of an energy hub in the country. And now the company has started the realization of contracts on exporting pipeline gas to Romania and Moldova. The contract between the parties was signed last month.
Turkey is fast becoming an important global energy center and is playing an increasing role in determining energy prices and transportation. "Turkey will be one of the markets determining the price of gas," said the country's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez. He also noted that Ankara is considering cooperation options with other countries to transport and sell gas to Europe.
