Turkey claims the 2nd place in the world in the field of medical tourism

There are all the prerequisites that by the end of 2023 Turkey will take the 2nd place in the list of the most popular countries in the field of medical tourism. If this happens, Turkey will be followed by Spain and will displace France, pushing it to the third place. The Turkish government plans to increase revenues from this industry to 3 billion dollars.

In 2022, Turkey welcomed a record 1.2 million medical tourists, generating $2.1 billion in revenue.  According to International Health Services Inc. in most cases foreigners come to the country for services in ophthalmology, medical biochemistry, general surgery, gynecology, dentistry, orthopedics and traumatology.
