Turkey attracted a huge number of tourists in 2023

From January to July, the number of visitors exceeded 30 million, which is 16% more than last year. The number of visitors exceeded even the figures of 2019. According to Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, foreign tourists accounted for more than 26.7 million of the total number of tourists, and about 3 million were Turkish citizens living abroad.  

Russians were the most active tourists. About 3.5 million people visited the country's resorts, 60% more than a year ago. German citizens are in second place with 3.2 million visitors. In third place are the British, who spent their vacations in Turkey in the amount of 2 million people.

Turkey s state-owned energy company Botas has signed a new long-term contract with France s TotalEnergies for the supply of 16 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
