Conditions for obtaining a residence permit in Northern Cyprus

North Cyprus presents foreign citizens, perhaps, the easiest conditions for obtaining a residence permit. You can get a residence permit on the basis of a lease or sale contract for real estate and even if the property is purchased in installments or is under construction.

Important! To apply, the passport must be valid for at least 2 years.

So, you will need to prepare the following documents:

1. Lease agreement/purchase agreement/ownership document (depending on the status of your property)
2. original and translated and apostilized copy of the passport of a foreign citizen
3. Translated and apostilized birth certificate of children
4. Translated and apostilized marriage certificate
5.  Stamped certificate from the place of residence, taken from the headman of the place of residence (2-3 pieces)
6. Biometric photos - 2 pcs.
7.  Certificate of absence of criminal record
8. Certificate of residence from your country of residence or water, electricity bill with the address of residence
9. Confirmation of financial solvency. To do this, you need to open a bank account and make a deposit at the rate of 10-15 thousand dollars for each adult family member.
10. Health insurance policy
11. Certificate of medical examination from a state clinic 
11. Receipt for payment of the state fee (about 40 euros)
12. State postage stamps - 10 pieces

Important: You must not leave the island after submitting the application for a residence permit to avoid the application being canceled!

After all the documents are ready, you need to register on the website http://www.muhaceret.gov.ct.tr/ , fill out the application form and upload a photo. Having performed these actions, the rendezvous date will appear on the screen. On this day you will have to come to the police with all the documents. The term of registration of residence permit - 2-3 months. 

You can also get a residence permit for Northern Cyprus when you enroll in a local university, as well as when you are officially employed or start your own business.

For the importation of controlled drugs, travellers must obtain prior authorization from Mohap and submit relevant documents in Arabic or English, Including a valid medical prescription and an authenticated certificate or authorization from the competent authority of the country of dispatch. Travellers may import prescription drugs for personal use for a period of no more than three months, provided they have an active medical prescription. The UAE prohibits the importation of unregistered or banned drugs, as well as medicinal herbs that may be authorized in the country of origin. For all other herbal medicines, the import procedure is similar to conventional prescription drugs.

The will in Turkey: important information for foreigners 

If a foreigner wants to leave a will in Turkey, it is important to consider that it must comply with Turkish inheritance law. Turkish law provides for a guaranteed share (saklı pay) for certain categories of heirs, regardless of the contents of the will. Such heirs include children, spouses and parents.
