David French, 80, an athlete and retired British Navy man, performing in front of a hotel audience, easily lifted a barbell weighing 150 kg to the applause and cheers of the audience. David French is a well-known athlete who has been ranked first in many European countries. He came to Alanya on the advice of a Turkish friend living in England. David and his wife really liked Alanya and decided to settle in the city.

"I worked in the navy for 12 years, then I did various sports. 8 years ago I broke a record by lifting an airplane. Thanks to my friend whom I met in England, I am moving to Alanya. I want to buy a house here and continue my life here. I would also like to start a club to popularize powerlifting among the local youth. Together with my friend, we are also in talks with many famous British artists and movie actors whom we would like to invite to Alanya," David said after the speech.
