Inverted tulips, or as they are also popularly called "crying bride", are a plant endemic to Turkey. The famous architect of the Ottoman Empire Mimar Sinan used images of these flowers in the construction of the Selimiye Mosque in the city of Edirne.
They bloom for a short time, only 20 days and are strictly protected by the state. The fine for collecting these flowers is 244,315 lire!
