A new logistics center is being built in Mersin

September 19, 2023

In May 2023, the Municipality of Mersin started the implementation of a logistics center project in Nakarli neighborhood of Akdeniz district. The project aims to meet the needs of freight forwarding companies. With the completion of the project, transportation and environmental problems in the city will be eliminated and logistics processes will be managed from a single center. The logistics center will include offices for 100 companies, administrative and social facilities, service workshops and a parking lot for 181 trucks. The construction area is 77,000 m2. The new center will prevent congestion in the city, as well as eliminate economic losses due to stop-and-go costs.

"We plan to complete the construction of the logistics center in March 2024," said Yusuf Aydın, head of the building maintenance and repair sector of the Capital Municipality's Public Works Department.
