In Istanbul taxis will be installed alarm buttons

In Istanbul taxis will be installed alarm buttons

June 24, 2024

In response to the increasing number of attacks on taxi drivers, a demonstration project is under way in Istanbul. The "panic button" project in the taxi, the prototype of which was previously presented by the municipality of Istanbul, began to be actively tested from June. It is planned to integrate all taxis in Istanbul in the short term.

How will the system work?
In case of danger, the driver will press the button and the notification will be sent to the police units.
No one but the driver will know that the button was pressed.

Panic buttons will also be installed for passengers
The panic button for passengers in the prototype presented by the Istanbul municipality has not yet been implemented. After completion of the trial stages of the application, the alarm button for passengers will also be installed in the taxi. In the last stage, the taxi will install a camera system with instant image transmission.
