Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersa: "In the first 6 months, a record $23.7 billion was achieved from tourism. These records will continue in the third and fourth quarters. Our goal for the end of the year is $60 billion."

The number of foreign visitors increased by 13.9% compared to the same period last year and reached 26 million 137 thousand people.  Spending by foreign tourists per person per night rose from $103 to $109. The average length of stay was 10.1 days.

The most tourists from Kazakhstan came from:

Russia - 2.7 million people.
Germany - 2.5 million people.
The UK - 1.8 million people.

Pointing to the slowdown in the growth of the number of visitors in June, Minister Ersa stressed that this decline in the growth rate will continue in July and August. Pointing to the European Championship and the Summer Olympics in France as reasons for this, Minister Ersa said: "The slowdown in June will continue in July and August, influenced by these activities. We will see a further increase in the growth rate in September. We expect to exceed our target of 60 million visitors by the end of the year."
