In Turkey, a prominent media couple detained

The spouses of Nelihan Güngen and Inanch Güngen, widely known on social media as "Neslim Güngen", were arrested in the course of operations "KUYU-8" organized in 25 provinces, on charges of creating an organization for the purpose of committing a crime, Laundering of criminal assets, forgery of official documents and qualified fraud (a total of 44 individual offences). A total of 54 people were detained. The operation resulted in the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs and cosmetics, drug consignments, medical devices with forged documents and large amounts of cash.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikai: "Organized criminal organizations and those who try to launder money from criminal activities will not be tolerated. Regardless of their popularity, we will suppress the activities of such individuals and hold them accountable".

Nelihan Gungen became popular on social media due to her videos about makeup and beauty. She and her husband own a network of beauty salons in Turkey.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
