Fines for silence violations increased by 58% in Turkey

In accordance with the Law on Environmental Protection, it is prohibited to make noise that exceeds the established standards and violates the physical and mental health of people. The shortest way to deal with noisy neighbors is to contact the police department to file a complaint and impose a fine. If, despite the fines imposed, the noise does not stop, you can apply to the magistrate's court for civil cases. If the problem is not solved, despite all these methods, in accordance with article 25 of the Law on Condominiums, the owners of neighboring apartments can unite and evict a noisy neighbor.

Within the framework of the communique that has entered into force, noise fines for objects that create noise and vibration in excess of the established norms are as follows:

for residential buildings - 7.667 liras
for vehicles - 23.155 liras
for factories, construction sites, entertainment venues - 232.264 liras
