A new law limiting aydat is being drafted in Turkey

A new law limiting aydat is being drafted in Turkey

August 18, 2023

Aydat is a monthly payment for the maintenance of a residential complex (citeh). Most of the cites are under the control of certain management companies, which set the amount of aydat. Often there are conflicts and disputes between such companies and tenants, which are not easy to solve even in the legal field. As a result, the deputies decided to work closely on the law, which will clearly regulate the activities of companies.

What innovations are planned to be introduced?

the maximum annual increase in aydat will not exceed 30% of the previous payment
Only companies with a special license will be able to manage residential complexes.
the Ministry of Environment will appoint auditors to check the presence/absence of licenses and certificates. They will also carry out audits of accounting reports and control over the spending of funds collected from residents.

The aim of the new legal framework is to reduce the number of disputes and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.
