Turkey amended its regulation of short-term leases

The Regulation on Amendments to the Regulation on Regulation of Short-term Leases has been published in the Official Gazette. The following changes have been made:

1. Requirements for a residential complex have been relaxed to obtain a short-term lease. While all the following items were previously required, it is now sufficient to have two of them: 

- reception, security, daily cleaning
- dry cleaning, laundry, transport service
- cafes, restaurants, shops
- gym
- pool

Deadline for execution of requirements extended to 31.12.2024

2. In order to obtain a short-term lease, it is sufficient to obtain the consent of 80% of the votes of all owners, instead of 100% of the votes as it was before. 

3. Cancellation of the penalty for the initial detection of violations. The elimination of deficiencies is given 15 days

4. Extension from 30 to 60 days for short-term lease applications

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
