Turkey has put into operation the alcohol tracking system (EATS)

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli reported that the electronic alcohol tracking system (EATS)The National Institute for Human Rights, established to prevent deaths from counterfeit and illegal alcohol production, has been put into operation.

Ministry’s Communiqué on the procedures and principles for determining the production of ethanol, methanol and stock movements in the stores of ethanol and methanol, The definition of the method for trade in products, data collection and transport of products came into force after publication in the "Official Gazette". The software and equipment for data transmission were developed entirely by the Ministry’s own resources.

Yumaki noted that the system is designed to prevent deaths as a result of the production of counterfeit and illegal alcoholic beverages, and said that the system would be an important step in the fight against illegal production of alcoholic beverages.
