Important information about obtaining a residence permit on surety in Turkey

July 10, 2024

Many foreigners were interested in obtaining a residence permit on surety. Let us see what these are and what steps need to be taken.

📌 Residence Permit on surety refers to a short-term tourist residence permit (Kısa dönem Turistik).

📌 Main requirements:
To obtain such a residence permit you will need a guarantor. The guarantor draws up a document from a notary, in which he takes responsibility for you.

📌 Who can be a guarantor?
The guarantor can be a citizen of Turkey or holder of the residence permit.

Important!
- If the guarantor himself is the owner of the residence permit, the validity period of your residence permit may not exceed the validity period of the residence permit guarantor.
- If your guarantor is married, his(her) spouse(s) must also write a surety.
- The guarantor is not obliged to own the property. The document only has to be specified that the guarantor will provide you with housing. You must stay at the address indicated in the surety.

📌To obtain a guarantee from a notary you need:

- Guarantor’s passport translated and notarized
- Propiska to the address
- PLACE OF GUARANTEE
- Personal presence of the guarantor

📌At the moment, to get a primary tourist residence on general grounds (rent/surety) has become much more difficult. The exception is Ukrainian citizens.
