At the moment, foreigners in Georgia can get a residence permit for 1 year when buying real estate worth 100,000 USD and for 5 years when buying real estate worth 300,000 USD. However, there are some alarm bells in this direction. For example, the Georgian opposition demands from the authorities to temporarily stop issuing residence permits for Russian citizens and even introduced a bill in Parliament to stop issuing residence permits to Russian citizens.
In Turkey, a foreigner receives a residence permit for 2 years when buying real estate, the expert appraised value of which is 75.000 USD, and when buying real estate, the cadastral value of which is 400.000 USD, he has the right to obtain Turkish citizenship for himself and his family members. There is also talk in the Turkish media about changing the conditions for obtaining residence permit, for example, about raising the threshold of cadastral value of real estate to obtain citizenship, however, there is no talk about banning the issuance of residence permits to foreigners.
