VTB to launch transfers to Turkey and India by the end of 2023

June 26, 2023

According to TASS, VTB will launch transfers to Turkey and India by the end of 2023. The statement was made by Anatoly Pechatnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Bank's Management Board, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

A VTB press release said the procedure for cross-border transfers will be identical to current transactions in rubles and other national currencies. It means that the clients will have to first open an account at VTB in their national currency by purchasing the required currency through the bank's application. When using a card transfer, money will be debited in rubles and then automatically converted to the currency of the relevant country at the rate provided by the recipient bank.
