We continue to introduce you to the province of Mersin. Today we will touch on the topic of higher education.
There are three universities in Mersin:
Mersin University (Mersin State University).
It offers training in 16 faculties (bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies). Almost 40,000 students study at the university, about 3,000 of them are foreigners. Mersin University is continuously ranked among the top 50 universities in Turkey. The training is conducted in Turkish and in English. The cost of training starts from $ 1,000.
Toros Universitesi (private university). It was founded in 2009. It offers training in 7 faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Advanced Classification. The training is conducted in Turkish and/or English.
Tarsus Üniversitesi. It was established in 2018 as a department of Mersin University in Tarsus. Provides training in Economics, Medicine, Engineering, Sociology and Technology faculties. There is a distance education program for students with disabilities.
All of the above universities operate according to the Bologna system and participate in student exchange programs by European educational institutions. On the basis of all universities there are language schools and campuses for living.
To enroll in Turkish universities, the applicant must provide:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree or school certificate;
• Proof of knowledge of English/Turkish (TOEFL/CAE/TÖMER). In the absence of a certificate, I give the student 1 year to study the language;
• SAT/ACT/GMAT/GRE or YÖS exam results (standardized test for foreign applicants);
• Copies of passport and photo.
