Prohibition of fire in forests and picnic areas in Turkey

Turkey experienced hot dry weather and, as a result, increased fire risks. Fires have already been recorded in Manavgat, Antalya (Konyaalty), which, fortunately, managed to contain and extinguish. In response to the situation, many provinces have issued bans on campfires and barbecues in forests and picnic areas.

In Antelje, in the picnic and recreation areas from June to the end of October, it is forbidden to ignite barbecues and bonfires. Picnic areas are prohibited from 9 pm to 8.30 am. Entrance to the forest, except for permitted areas for picnics and recreation in the city, is prohibited from June 7 to October 31. 

The same order was issued by the municipality of Istanbul. The entrance to the forest of STambula is prohibited until October 15.

Turkey's Finance Ministry to Reveal Names of Major Tax Debtors

Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet Simsek said the names of taxpayers with tax arrears and fines of 5 million lira or more will be made public. Those who do not want to be on the list of "tax debtors" will have to pay off their debts by the end of September 2024. Taxpayers from earthquake-hit areas will be excluded from the measure.
