A Cappadocia resident discovered an underground city during renovation work
Mustafa Halıcıoğlu, who decided to repair the floors in his house, was surprised to find a large underground tunnel. When he continued his excavations, he discovered a whole ancient city with many rooms and a network of tunnels. Archeologists who arrived at the site indicated an estimated age of the settlement of about 2000 years. To date, they have managed to clear about 300 m2 of the city, however, scientists believe that in reality it is much larger.

The "Days of Literature" event will be held in Antalya on Nov. 16 to 19

It was at 9:05, November 10, 1938, that the first president of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, died at the age of 57 in Istanbul's Dolmabahce Palace and the clock in his bedroom stopped at this mark. As a sign of eternal memory of the founder of the Republic, the whole country falls silent for a minute on this day. A siren sounds, after which all cars and pedestrians stop and pay tribute to Ataturk. After the minute of silence official events begin in all cities of Turkey. The first persons of the state hold a ceremony of laying flowers at the bust of Ataturk in Ankara. Thematic performances and matinees are held in all educational institutions.

Turkey's exports increased by 7.4% in October

Turkish President visits Ayder Plateau, referred to as "Turkish Switzerland"

The seismic activity map of Turkey has been updated
In 78 years of observations, the seismic map of Turkey has changed only 6 times. After the February earthquake, the map has been updated again. According to the new data, seismic activity decreased in Çanakkale, Muğla, Adana, Antalya, Eskisehir and Malatya provinces and increased in Trabzon, Rize, Elazığ, Erzurum and Aksaray provinces.
