Employees of 375 hotels in Alanya have been trained in the Zero Waste program
Throughout the season, zero waste trainings were held in the city's hotels by trainers and engineering staff of Alanya Cleaning Department.Within the framework of the works started at the beginning of the season under the slogan "Clean Alanya", Alanya Municipality conducted zero waste trainings in 375 hotels. Thanks to the Zero Waste trainings, savings were achieved in hotels where there was a very high turnover of waste, and nature and environment were protected.

Juries have selected the participants of the 18th Alanya International Sculpture Festival to be held in Alanya in November
The sculptors who will take part in the 18th Alanya International Sculpture Festival organized by Alanya Municipality and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University have been selected. The festival, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of our republic, will start on November 1 on the square next to the Municipality building and will last until November 30. Applications for participation in the festival were submitted by 55 sculptors from 27 countries. At the jury meeting chaired by Prof. B lent Çınar from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, 10 sculptors were selected to participate in the festival: Ayhan Yılmaz - Turkey Berta Shortiss - Switzerland Bouaziz Mohamed - Tunisia

Mersin Municipality supported local fishermen

A tomb from the Roman period has been discovered in the Tarsus region of Mersin
Excavations have begun in the Tarsus district of Mersin, where a tomb believed to date back to the Roman period has been discovered. It was found during the excavation of the foundation of the office building of the district police headquarters in 1993 in the Duatepe neighborhood. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Directorate of the Tarsus Museum. A 6-member team under the scientific supervision of Deniz Kaplan, Associate Professor of the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Mersin University, is taking part in the excavations. He noted that the history of Tarsus is thousands of years old and still hides many mysteries and said that the excavation works will last about 3 months.

Bulgaria has banned cars with Russian license plates from entering the country
Bulgaria, following Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Germany and Norway, has banned the entry into the country and transit through the country of cars with Russian license plates, except for cars belonging to diplomatic missions. Cars currently in the country must be removed from the country within 6 months.

Professor Dr. Murat Durukan, Head of the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Mersin University, said that Mersin's archaeological areas have high potential and if they are comprehensively explored, they will multiply the region's attractiveness in terms of tourism. "Mersin is one of the richest regions in Turkey in terms of archaeological sites, both registered and unregistered. Besides the well-known Kızkalesi, Adamkayalar, Cennet Cehennem, Kanlıdivane, there are many more sites in Mersin that need to be explored as soon as possible. When we do, we can make the city attractive to both tourists and investors by making archaeological sites the centers of attraction of the region," the professor said.

A cat museum has opened in Istanbul

Turkey has become the largest buyer of gold in the world
Turkey has significantly increased its gold reserves, becoming the largest buyer of gold. The country's central bank has been accumulating gold for months and last year was also the largest buyer of the precious metal among the world's monetary authorities. A Turkish pensioner who spent his retirement savings on saplings for the forest died in a forest fire
Omer Bulut, 78, died in the K se (G m şhane) district. Omer became famous after he bought and planted 12,000 conifer saplings in a forest affected by a fire. Bulut Omer returned to his native village of Kayadibi after working as a laborer in Germany for 30 years and retired. He spent his entire retirement savings of 500,000 liras to plant new trees on 300 hectares of land in the Gezeler district.
