Istanbul ranked 1st in the top 5 most visited cities in the world in 2023

Research company Euromonitor has published its annual ranking of the top 5 most visited cities in the world in 2023. Istanbul was ranked first with 20 million tourists, followed by London in second place (18.8 million tourists), Dubai in third place (16.8 million tourists), Antalya in fourth place (16.5 million tourists) and Paris in fifth place (15.5 million tourists).

Construction of a grand sports center in Konakli in Alanya has started

Alanya Municipality has started work on the project of a sports complex to be built on an area of 200,000 m in the Elikesik Mahallesi neighborhood of Konakli, which will be the largest complex in the region. The project consists of 3 phases. Phase 1 includes the construction of tennis courts, a soccer field with a capacity of 2500 people, soccer training fields, a building for athletes' accommodation and a complex including conference halls, a restaurant and cafeteria, indoor and outdoor public and sports grounds and 45 rooms for 100 people.

Tender for the Antalya-Alanya highway project has been finalized

Turkish astronaut will fly into space for the first time on January 17, 2024

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Ka ır announced that Turkey's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, will go into space on January 17, 2024. Gezeravcı will take part in the flight together with Spanish, Italian and Swedish astronauts and will stay on the International Space Station for 14 days. Minister Fatih Ka ır said that as part of the ISS stay program, Gezeravcı will conduct 13 different scientific experiments in fields such as biology, medicine, material science and genetics. From December 25, drug prices in Turkey will increase by 25%
