A team of scientists led by Quentin Atkinson, a specialist in evolutionary biology from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, conducted a study analyzing more than 100 modern and ancient languages using computer methods. After that they concluded that Anatolia (the territory of modern Turkey) is the birthplace of Indo-European languages, which nowadays are spoken by more than 3 billion people.

Annual Oil Wrestling Festival in Alanya

In the last 5 years, 19 caves have been discovered in Antalya province

A new cave has been discovered in Antalya's Orman Mahallesi neighborhood of Ibrada district. Ahmet Ozturk, president of Hacettepe University Cave Research Society (HÜMAK), said: "Our team members who descended into the cave were amazed by the mesmerizing view. We named it 'Arabaly' (car cave) because of the old car seen at the bottom of the cave. The depth of the cave is about 40-50 meters. The length of the cave is not completely determined, as mapping work is still ongoing. At the moment we estimate that its length is about 70 meters."
