Beach volleyball tournament in Mersin
A beach volleyball tournament will start for the second time today in Mersin's Bozyazi neighborhood. The competition will be held at Sahil Yaşam Parkı from August 14 to 20. Bozyazı Mayor Mustafa Çetinkaya said that the district municipality is working to develop Bozyazı in all fields, including the popularization of sports and healthy lifestyles among citizens. "The tournament is an important step for the development of the district and I hope it will become an annual event," Çetinkaya said.

30th Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival

Lionfish fishing competitions were held in Antalya
In order to effectively combat the lionfish, which is spreading from the Red Sea to the shores of Antalya through the Suez Canal and damaging the marine species living there, Antalya Municipality organized a lionfish fishing competition at Konyaalti Beach. The competition was held in two categories. In the first one, the participants who caught the biggest fish were declared the winners, and in the second one, the participants who caught the most fish by weight were declared the winners. A total of 13 kg 450 g of lionfish were caught, which the fishermen handed over to the cooks. They, in their turn, immediately cooked it and served it to all the guests of the tournament.

MESKİ has checked the quality of seawater on Mersin's beaches
"Mersin's beaches are safe and suitable for bathing," Mersin Metropolitan Municipality's Water Supply and Sewerage Department (MESKİ) officials said after a thorough inspection of the seawater. Samples were taken from 40 beaches, including Kocasanlı, Kargıpınarı, Davultepe, Limonlu, Tırtar, T bank, Kumkuyu, Sultankoyu, Yemiskumu, Kızkalesi and Akkum beaches.

Chinese tourists will reappear in Turkey
The Chinese government has lifted bans on citizens' group travel to Turkey. "All travel agencies and online platforms across the country can now sell group trips," China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism said. The ban was also lifted on travel to the US, UK, Australia, South Korea and Japan.

All beaches of Antalya coast recognized as safe for bathing
The Ministry of Health's General Directorate of Public Health has tested the water on the entire Antalya coast from Kaş to Gazipaşa. Studies have shown that seawater samples taken from these beaches are free of health-threatening bacteria such as E. coli and enterococci. The result of the inspection: all 304 beaches on the Antalya coast are absolutely safe and suitable for swimming.

Mersin's beekeepers have started harvesting honey
In Erdemli, local beekeepers have started harvesting honey from hives located on the high plateau of Musa Bozuldu. Honey production in the region is supported by the beekeeping department of the Alata Horticulture Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. In winter, the hives are kept on the territory of the institute. In summer they are transported to the Taurus Mountains at an altitude of 2300 meters.
