Mersin Youth Festival

The second Mersin Youth Festival is just days away. The festival is organized under the coordination of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs. Residents and guests of Mersin and neighboring cities are expected at Özgecan Aslan Square on October 13-14. The festival program includes DJ performances, master classes, competitions, sports and entertainment events. Popular artists Zeynep Bastık and K fn will perform concerts on the first day of the festival, while Aleina Tilki and Jeza will perform on the second day.

Juries have selected the participants of the 18th Alanya International Sculpture Festival to be held in Alanya in November

The sculptors who will take part in the 18th Alanya International Sculpture Festival organized by Alanya Municipality and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University have been selected. The festival, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of our republic, will start on November 1 on the square next to the Municipality building and will last until November 30. Applications for participation in the festival were submitted by 55 sculptors from 27 countries. A tomb from the Roman period has been discovered in the Tarsus region of Mersin

Excavations have begun in the Tarsus district of Mersin, where a tomb believed to date back to the Roman period has been discovered. It was found during the excavation of the foundation of the office building of the district police headquarters in 1993 in the Duatepe neighborhood. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Directorate of the Tarsus Museum. A 6-member team under the scientific supervision of Deniz Kaplan, Associate Professor of the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Mersin University, is taking part in the excavations. He noted that the history of Tarsus is thousands of years old and still hides many mysteries and said that the excavation works will last about 3 months.

Turkey has become the largest buyer of gold in the world
